Bear Dance and the eastern shores of Flathead Lake define this area of the Mission Range foothills. The landscape is characterized by steep drainages and mountain streams that flow westward from the high terrain of the Flathead National Forest into the lake. Notable waterways including Bohannon Cr, No-see-em Cr, and Gunderson Cr carve narrow paths through the forested slopes. Along the shoreline, E Shore Rd provides the primary north-south connection, passing through small inlets like Woods Bay and providing access to residential pockets at Jennie Point Rd and Lolo Point Ln. This modern survey documents the interface between the protected wilderness of the national forest and the developed lakefront, where topography and water dictate the pattern of human settlement and movement.
