Yamsay Mtn dominates the high-elevation divide where the Fremont National Forest meets the Winema National Forest. This modern 2023 survey illustrates the remote volcanic landscape at the boundary of Klamath and Lake counties. The terrain is defined by prominent basaltic uplifts including Buck Ridge, Booth Ridge, and Jackson Ridge.

A network of specialized routes such as the Southern Oregon Intertie Trl and Antler Loop Trl cross the timbered slopes, connecting vital water sources like Antler Springs and Blue Buck Spring. Descending from these heights, numerous drainages such as West Fork Silver Creek and Long Creek feed the surrounding basin.
