1957 Map of Yorktown

USGS Topo · Published 1960

About this map

The Yorktown waterfront and the military landscape of the Virginia Peninsula define this mid-century survey. Along the York River, the Colonial National Historical Park preserves the grounds of the 1781 siege, while the George P Coleman Memorial Bridge provides a modern link over the river to Gloucester. Further south, the sprawling Fort Eustis Military Reservation occupies Mulberry Island, complete with its own internal rail network, a Heliport, and a Landing Strip near the Warwick River.
