The Judith River carves a deep, winding path through the northern plains of Fergus County, defining the drainage patterns of this prairie landscape. The northwest corner of the quadrangle includes a portion of the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument, a protected area known for its complex topography and geological significance. The land is heavily dissected by numerous drainage features, including the prominent Seventy Nine Coulee, Brown Coulee, and Anderson Coulee, which create a series of ridges and valleys leading down to the riverbanks.
