Cottonwood Rim dominates the northwestern corner of this High Plains landscape, overlooking a complex drainage network that defines the region's topography. The central portion of the map is shaped by the meandering S Fork Powder River, which receives seasonal flows from several tributaries including Indian Cr and Cottonwood Cr. This area of central Wyoming is characterized by its significant draws and drainage basins, most notably the eponymous Anderson Draw in the northeast.
