Andorno Ranch sits at the western base of the Santa Rosa Range, where the steep mountain slopes meet the basin floor of northern Nevada. This 2015 survey documents the complex water management of the high desert, tracing a series of seasonal streams including Buffalo Cr, Andorno Cr, and Tony Cr as they flow toward the broad expanse of Gallagher Flat. To the east, the boundary of the Humboldt National Forest lines the rising terrain, while the southern portion of the quadrangle transitions into the Bloody Run Hills. The map shows a landscape defined by ranching and transit, with the prominent Denio Highway 140 cutting across the southern flats near Cane Springs. Historic routes like Daveytown Rd and Sand Pass Rd provide access to the remote meadows and canyons that characterize this corner of Humboldt County.
