The terrain is defined by prominent topographical features such as New Hope Valley, Dale Valley, and Ortello Valley, which channel seasonal water toward Victoria Cr. A diagonal railroad corridor—marked here as S E St within the town grid—dictates the orientation of the settlement and much of the surrounding rural infrastructure.

Local history and genealogy are preserved through several scattered burial sites across the township, including Saint Anselms Cem, Saint Andrews Cem, and New Hope Cem. To the northeast, the settlement of New Helena marks an older established point of interest near Victoria Springs Cem and Sargent Reservoir.
