The Wind River Indian Reservation landscape is defined by an extensive industrial network of energy extraction and transport as it appeared in the late 1970s. This survey records a high density of Oil Wells, Gas Wells, and Pumping Stations linked by a complex system of Pipelines crossing the high desert terrain. The area is anchored by natural water features like the Wind River to the north and the meandering Beaver Creek to the southwest, while prominent landforms such as Sevenmile Hill and the Gas Hills rise above the draws.
