About this map

The Colville River and the Great Northern railroad corridor define the eastern edge of this mid-1960s landscape, where the settlements of Arden and Orin serve as small hubs for the surrounding valley. To the west, the terrain rises sharply into the timbered slopes of Marble Mountain and the expansive North Basin. This transition from the river valley into the high country is marked by a network of drainage systems, including Stranger Creek, Haller Creek, and Spratt Creek, which carve through the elevations to meet the main valley floor.
