Arkansaw sits at the southern edge of this West Central Wisconsin landscape, where the Arkansaw Cr meets the larger Eau Galle River system. The geography is defined by a series of prominent ridges and coulees, such as Coburn Ridge and Joe Gray Coulee, which separate the river valleys. To the north, the Lake Eau Galle reservoir dominates the drainage of the Missouri Cr and Little Missouri Cr. This 2015 survey provides a detailed view of the rural infrastructure between Dunn Co and Pepin Co, including several community-focused sites like Saint Henrys Cem and Saint Josephs Cem. The transition from the high elevations of The Hogback down to the Dead Lake Prairie illustrates the complex hydrologic and topographic character of the region near the village of Eau Galle.
