Colville Indian Reservation lands dominate this landscape north of the Columbia River bend. The terrain rises from the Nespelem Bar and Bissell Flat through a series of canyons and ridges, including Kroll Canyon and Mineral Ridge, toward the peak of Squaw Mtn. The Nespelem Community is the primary settlement, situated near the Nespelem River and its notable cascades, Multnomah Falls and Spray Falls.
