Okanogan National Forest dominates this landscape, where the high ridges and deep drainages of the Cascades create a complex network of passes and peaks. The Pacific NW National Scenic Trail traverses the high ground, connecting points such as Bunker Hill and Quartz Mtn as it winds through the wilderness. Water is a defining element here, with the E Fork Pasayten River carving through the center of the quadrangle and feeding into the remarkable chain of Hidden Lakes, including Big Hidden Lake, Middle Hidden Lake, and First Hidden Lake.
