The Okanogan National Forest dominates this high-altitude landscape along the border between the United States and British Columbia. The terrain is defined by the central corridor of the Ashnola River, which flows northward through a complex network of ridges and glacial basins. Prominent peaks such as Bald Mtn, Van Peak, and Freds Mtn overlook numerous small alpine water bodies, including Fawn Lake, Corral Lake, and Freds Mountain Lake.
