The border between Cloud and Ottawa counties divides this agricultural landscape, where the prairie is dissected by several named drainage systems. Water sources such as Yockey Cr and Henry Cr flow through the undulating terrain, which remains largely defined by the grid-based section lines of the Public Land Survey System. These roads, including Windmill Rd and Wilderness Rd, provide access to the dispersed farmsteads and rural infrastructure that sustain the local economy.
