Allison Mtn and Black Mtn anchor this portion of the Edwards Plateau, where the land is carved by an intricate network of limestone-bottomed drainages. The South Llano River clips the southeastern corner of the map, fed by a system of creeks including Bailey Cr, Ratliff Cr, and Cajac Cr. This is a landscape of rugged relief, characterized by numerous named draws and hollows such as Wagon Bed Draw, Indian Hollow, and Turkey Hollow, which descend from the high divides toward the river basin.
