On the higher ground to the northeast, the Buhl National Guard Rifle Range sits near the canyon rim above Bluegill Lake. Human activity in this remote region is noted by several Gravel Pit sites, a network of utility roads such as Magic Water Road, and scattered infrastructure like Storage Bins and a Radio Tower near Sunset Butte. Traces of earlier occupation appear in the form of Ruins found along the northern reaches of the creek.
