Bally Mtn rises at the center of this high-elevation landscape, where the borders of the Umatilla National Forest and Whitman National Forest meet. The terrain is defined by a dense network of hydrologic features, including numerous named water sources such as Syrup Spring, Wildhorse Spring, and Bally Mountain Spring. These springs feed into drainage systems like Syrup Creek and Meadow Creek, carving out distinct landforms such as Cougar Canyon and the prominent pass known as The Narrows.
