Tonto National Forest land defines this portion of the Arizona desert where the Verde River is impounded to create the Bartlett Reservoir. The centerpiece of the area is Bartlett Dam, which controls the water flow downstream towards the Phoenix basin. The shoreline of the reservoir is marked by points of interest such as Rattlesnake Cove and South Cove, while the surrounding terrain is punctuated by significant peaks like Brushy Mtn and Bee Mtn.
