Unionville (Fleming PO) sits along the southeastern edge of this topographic study, where the valley floor meets the steep rise of Bald Eagle Mountain. This area of Centre County is defined by the sharp transition between the agricultural lands of the Eagle Creek corridor and the high, forested plateaus of the Snow Shoe State Forest. Local landmarks such as the Oak Ridge Cem, Bush Hollow Ch, and Dicks Run Ch are preserved alongside the infrastructure of the Penn Central railroad, which follows the creek through the valley.

The landscape is heavily dissected by numerous watercourses including Wallace Run and the South Fork Beech Creek, creating prominent high points like Bear Knob and Ganderstep Knob. The presence of an Airway Beacon and several Radio Towers atop the high ridges reflects the mid-century development of navigation and communication infrastructure. Much of the northern terrain is dedicated to public lands, including State Game Lands No 103, characterized by an extensive network of fire roads and paths such as the Wallace Run Trail.
