Belleville (Site) sits at the intersection of mining and transport history in this late 1960s survey of the Nevada desert. Located between the Excelsior Mountains and the Candelaria Hills, this former silver milling town is reduced to its foundational elements, including Mill (Ruins), extensive Tailings, and a Cem. The industrial footprint of the region is further evidenced by the Giroux Mine and an unnamed Mine to the northwest, alongside the archaeological traces of the Old RR Grade and Old Railroad Grade that once connected these remote extraction sites to the outside world.
