Walker Mountain anchors this portion of Jefferson National Forest, where the ridgelines of the Seven Sisters and Big Bend create a complex topography defined by deep gaps and winding waterways. The Appalachian National Scenic Trail traverses the northern heights above Suiter, winding past the headwaters of Hunting Camp Cr and Laurel Cr. This area represents a transition between high-altitude wilderness and the agrarian valleys of Bland County and Wythe County.
