Big Hole, a massive maar crater in the High Desert, dominates this 2014 survey of the border between Klamath and Lake Counties. The terrain is defined by volcanic features, including the prominent cinder cone of Big Hole Butte and the elevations of Hooligan Hill and Mowich Spring Butte. This landscape is managed as a transition point between the Deschutes National Forest and the Fremont National Forest.
