The High Plains landscape of eastern Colorado is defined by the ephemeral drainage patterns of Big Spring Cr and its tributaries as they carve through the borderlands of Cheyenne and Kit Carson counties. This 2019 survey captures a strictly rural environment where the Public Land Survey System creates a rigid, rectilinear grid of sections and townships across the prairie. The topography is subtly punctuated by the winding paths of E Br Spring Cr and Pass Cr, which break the flat horizon with low-relief draws and basins.
