Big Willow Spring Canyon defines the landscape of the Fort Defiance Agency region in this early twenty-first century study. The area is characterized by a critical network of desert water sources, including the centrally located Big Willow Spring and the curiously named Looking-for-Water Spring. Infrastructure in this part of the Navajo Nation is sparse, primarily composed of remote tracks like Indian Rte 9056 and the Beshbito Rest Area located along the southern corridor.
