Bishop Ranch and the small settlement of Harless anchor this high-desert landscape in Socorro County, defined by a network of drainage features and ranching infrastructure. The terrain is marked by the deep cut of Patterson Draw and the winding course of Rancho Viejo Arroyo, which flows toward the southern corner to meet Chupadera Arroyo. Evidence of the region’s pastoral economy is found in the various water catchments scattered across the sections, such as Gyp Tank, Manuel Tank, and Roebuck Tank, alongside the Booster Windmill. Large portions of the land are traversed by restricted access routes including WSMR P Route 7 and WSMR S Route 3617, reflecting the area's proximity to the White Sands Missile Range. The presence of Cañon de la Rosa adds geological variety to the western edge of this surveyed grid.
