Moyne sits in the southeastern corner of this Meagher County landscape, where the high-altitude drainage systems of the Big Belt Mountains begin to take shape. The terrain is defined by a dense network of seasonal and perennial waterways, most notably Sixteen Mile Creek and its various tributaries including Battle Creek, Mayns Creek, and Faulkner Creek. These watercourses carve through the complex topography surrounding Black Butte Mtn, which serves as the primary landmark for the region. A series of rural corridors, such as Sixteen Mile Rd and Schendel Rd, trace the natural contours of the land, reflecting a layout dictated by the steep elevation changes and the flow of Bridger Creek in the northwest. This modern survey illustrates how traditional ranching access and mountain geography continue to define the spatial organization of central Montana.
