Blackduck serves as the central hub of this northern Minnesota landscape, situated at the edge of the Chippewa National Forest. The geography is defined by a dense network of glacial water bodies, with Blackduck Lake and the winding Blackduck River dominating the northwest, while the southeastern corner is anchored by Rabideau Lake and Little Rabideau Lake. This 2019 survey documents the modern road network, including Scenic Hwy SE and numerous rural routes like Lookout Tower Rd NE and Jackpine Cutoff Rd NE. Local history and genealogy are preserved in the locations of Lakeview Cem and Summit Township Cem. The map illustrates a transition between the developed street grid of the town and the protected wilderness of the national forest, marked by distinct drainage patterns such as the Turtle River and Coburn Cr.
