Blue Hole sits at the center of this drainage landscape in Quay County, where the high plains of eastern New Mexico are deeply etched by seasonal watercourses. The northeastern corner is defined by the winding course of the Canadian River, while the rest of the quadrangle is dominated by the intricate network of Rana Arroyo and Rana Canyon. This arid ranching environment relies on scattered water sources such as Mesquital Tank and East-Side Tank, which provide essential catchments in a territory otherwise defined by wide-open topography.
