The northern High Plains landscape of the Texas Panhandle is defined here by the deep incisions of intermittent waterways carving through the caprock. Running across the Ochiltree Co Lipscomb Co boundary, the terrain is marked by the winding courses of Kiowa Cr, Gilhula Cr, and First Cr. These drainages create a complex network of canyons and draws that stand in sharp contrast to the flat agricultural land found on the surrounding plateaus.
