2015 Map of Boundary Peak

USGS Topo · Published 2015

About this map

Boundary Peak, the highest point in Nevada, dominates this high-altitude landscape along the border of Esmeralda and Mono Counties. The terrain transitions from the volcanic heights of Montgomery Peak to the massive plateau of Pellisier Flats within the White-Inyo Range. This survey details the drainage systems of the eastern slope, where Chiatovich Creek and its north and south forks cut through deep canyons such as Queen Dicks Canyon. Most of the land falls within the Inyo National Forest, preserving a wilderness character marked by dramatic drop-offs like The Jumpoff and the steep walls of Buffalo Canyon. The survey includes high-elevation paths and primitive routes such as B&B Mine Road and Trail Canyon, which provide the only access into these remote reaches of the Great Basin.
