Green River carves a dramatic serpentine path through the high desert plateaus of Grand County and Emery County, Utah. The landscape is defined by its massive river loops and the alluvial flats they create, including Bowknot Bend, Oak Bottom, and Tidwell Bottom. These lower elevations along the river banks are shadowed by high mesas and points, such as Spring Canyon Point and Deadman Point. The drainage network is complex, with deep incisions from Twomile Canyon, Mineral Canyon, and the winding Barrier Cr. Access to this remote river corridor is limited to primitive routes like Co Road 1026. Downstream, the waterway enters the narrow confines of Labyrinth Canyon, passing Saddle Horse Bottom as it continues its descent through the canyonlands.
