The agricultural landscape of Lewis and Clark County is defined here by an intricate network of irrigation and cattle ranching infrastructure as it appeared in 2011. Hitchcock Ranch and Shortridge Ranch occupy the northern reaches of the quadrangle, connected by rural routes such as Camp Walker Rd and Skyline Rd. The water management systems essential for high-plains agriculture are prominent, including the Bickle Burke Ditch and Bee Ditch, which divert water through the dry terrain. The most significant hydrological feature is the Dry Creek- Krezelok Reservoir, a local reservoir on the eponymous Dry Creek. To the south, the terrain is drained by the meandering North Fork Simms Creek, illustrating the vital relationship between the creek systems and the established ranching homesteads of this Montana region.
