The Stikine River and Bradfield Canal dominate this mid-century reconnaissance of the Southeast Alaskan wilderness. Positioned along the boundary of British Columbia Alaska, the terrain is defined by a dense network of glacial peaks such as Mt Whipple and Mt Bayard. While much of the landscape remains within the Tongass National Forest, signs of early industrial and administrative activity are present near the eastern edge, most notably the Riverside Mine and a Government Cabin near the head of the Chickamin River.
