Briggs Ranch anchors the western edge of this Beaverhead County landscape, where the Red Rock River cuts through the southwestern corner. The terrain is defined by a series of deep drainage systems, most notably the wide expanse of Ashbough Canyon and its smaller counterpart, Little Ashbough Canyon. These natural features, along with The Basin and several gulches like Little Spring Gulch, dictate the movement of water and travel through the region.
