The boundary between Citrus Co and Hernando Co divides a landscape defined by rolling karst topography and pockets of agricultural settlement. Central to the area is the dense woodland of the Withlacoochee State Forest, where a Lookout Tower overlooks numerous sinkhole ponds such as Stage Pond and Lizzie Hart Sink. These water features dictated the placement of early community nodes, including the Stage Pond Cem and several rural congregations like Hebron Ch and Shiloh Ch.
