The Tippecanoe River carves a winding path through the center of this landscape, serving as the primary geographical anchor for the surrounding agricultural community. Small settlements such as Pulaski and Buffalo are situated along the river's banks, while Headlee and Lakeside occupy the higher ground between an extensive network of drainage features. This system of man-made waterways, including Budd Fisher Ditch, Stout Ditch, and Ackerman Ditch, illustrates a highly managed rural environment designed to support productive farming across the Pulaski and White County line. Family history is well-preserved through numerous local burial sites, such as Saint Josephs Cem and Hoover Cem, which are found near the river and its many tributaries like Dickey Cr and Indian Creek.
