Bull Camp Butte dominates the southern reaches of this high-desert landscape in Owyhee County, where the elevation rises steeply from the surrounding basins. The geography is defined by a series of high-altitude drainages and depressions, notably Little Horse Basin and Horse Basin, which collect runoff in this arid environment. Strategic water management is evident through several localized catchments, including the Little Horse Basin Reservoir and W Horse Basin Reservoir in the north, and Homer Wells Reservoir near the southeastern corner. The South Fork Owyhee River carves through the western edge of the quadrangle, representing the primary hydrological artery in an otherwise parched expanse known as the Y P Desert. This survey illustrates the sparse but critical network of water resources and topographic landmarks essential for navigation and ranching in the remote Idaho backcountry during the early twenty-first century.
