Bull Mountain dominates this high-elevation desert landscape, marking a significant peak within the northeastern range of the Henry Mountains. The terrain transitions from the broken canyons and Poison Benches in the southeast toward the expansive flats of the Burr Desert to the east. Water sources are critical but sparse throughout this 1980s survey, noted by isolated locations such as Poison Spring, Goatwater Spring, and a lone Cattle Trough near Dry Valley.

Evidence of ranching and early resource exploration appears in the form of a Corral and a Drill Hole near Granite Creek. The map also delineates the high-country boundary between Wayne and Garfield counties. A network of unimproved 4WD tracks provides the only access through these drainage systems, including Halfway Wash and Cow Wash, revealing a landscape largely untouched by permanent settlement.
