Sauceda Mountains and the Batamote Mountains anchor this arid landscape in Pima County, Arizona. The terrain is defined by the convergence of prominent peaks and broad, low-lying drainage basins, most notably the Pozo Redondo Valley and the Valley of the Ajo. These basins serve as natural conduits for seasonal water flow through Tenmile Wash and Sikort-Chuapo Wash, which trace the low points between the volcanic ranges.
