The Powder River carves a complex, meandering path through this portion of the Sheridan and Campbell County border region. This landscape is defined by its dramatic erosion patterns, most notably the Powder River Breaks and the L Quarter Circle Hills. These formations create a broken terrain where numerous drainage systems, such as Ivy Cr, Spotted Horse Cr, and Joe Cr, converge toward the main river valley.
