Sapelo Island and its surrounding barrier ecosystems are the primary focus of this McIntosh County coastal study. The map documents the intricate network of tidal waterways and settlements such as King Savannah and Raccoon Bluff, located on the eastern edge of the island. To the north and east, the protected expanse of Blackbeard Island is separated from the main island by Blackbeard Creek, while the southern reaches show Cabretta Island and the dynamic Cabretta Inlet.
