Glacial lakes and reservation infrastructure dominate this northern Minnesota landscape near the turn of the decade. The area is defined by its water bodies, primarily Roosevelt Lake, Cahill Lake, and the smaller Collier Lake clustered to the south. The road network is sparse, consisting of the north-south artery Res Hwy 22 and its connection to Res Hwy 23, facilitating travel through the wetlands and forests of Beltrami County. This 2010 survey reflects a largely undeveloped territory where the natural hydrography, including Curtis Lake and Richards Lake, remains the primary geographic marker for local navigation and land management.
