The arid landscape of La Salle County is defined by a complex network of ephemeral waterways and man-made impoundments captured during this 2010 survey. Drainage across the region is dominated by Caiman Creek and its tributaries, including Chucareto Creek and Tecolate Creek, which carve winding paths through the brush country. These intermittent water sources are supplemented by numerous named stock tanks and larger reservoirs such as Snowden Lake and Koehne Lake, both of which are supported by local dam structures.
