Camden serves as the central hub of this West Tennessee landscape, where the CSX Transportation railroad line cuts through the heart of town. The topography to the east is defined by the expansive waters of Kentucky Lake, which separates Benton County from Humphreys County. This era shows a settled rural environment dotted with numerous burial grounds and small communities like Tin Cup, Black Center, and Liberty.

South of town, the Benton County Airport and a network of named waterways including Cypress Creek and Durdin Br shape the local geography. Significant local history is preserved in the many cemeteries across the quadrangle, from the Old Bethlehem Cem near Beaverdam Valley to the Cowells Chapel Cem along the Natchez Trace Rd. The terrain transitions from the elevations of Pea Ridge and Chestnut Hill down to the low-lying sloughs along the Tennessee River shoreline, including Big Slough and Fourmile Slough.
