Campana sits in the high desert of San Miguel County, where a complex network of dry washes and canyon systems defines the landscape. The settlement is positioned along Atarque Creek, which winds through the eastern portion of the quadrangle. This area is characterized by dramatic topographic shifts, with Polecat Canyon and Spring Canyon carving through the terrain to the west of the townsite.
