Cedar Grove serves as the central focal point of this 2018 survey, situated deep within the canyon of the South Fork Kings River. The landscape is defined by massive granite features and high alpine basins, including the Monarch Divide to the north and Sentinel Dome to the south. Historically significant trails and meadows, such as Frypan Meadow and Wildman Meadow, are documented alongside the Hotel-Lewis Connector, which links the steep drainages of Hotel Creek and Lewis Creek. The map illustrates the convergence of three major protected lands: Sierra National Forest, Sequoia National Forest, and Kings Canyon National Park. From the heights of Mt Harrington to the lower reaches of Deer Cove, the survey details the intricate drainage network that feeds into the Kings River, including the Grizzly Lakes basin and the distinctive Grand Dike formation.
