The Mission Range dominates this portion of the Flathead National Forest, where steep ridgelines and high-elevation basins define the geography of Lake County. High points such as Moss Peak and Cedar Peak provide the primary vertical relief, while the Hellroaring Pass serves as a critical natural crossing point between drainage systems. These peaks feed several major alpine water sources, including the namesake Cedar Lake and Piper Lake, which are linked by a complex network of seasonal and perennial streams like the N Fork Cedar Cr and S Fork Cedar Cr.
