The Green River carves a sweeping northern arc through the coal country of western Kentucky, dividing Ohio Co and Muhlenberg Co. This landscape is defined by its industrial transit network, featuring numerous dedicated corridors such as Nelson Haul Rd, Green River Haul Rd, and Monsanto Haul Rd, which connect small mining and river communities. The eastern outskirts of Central City are visible near several family and company burial grounds, including Fairmont Cem and Hill Cem. Moving east toward the river, the small settlements of Nelson and Martwick sit near the high-speed Wendell H Ford Western Kentucky Pkwy. In the southern portion of the quadrangle, the community of Cleaton is flanked by the Company Cem and Miller Cem, while the northern reaches include the riverfront site of Ceralvo.
