Chambers Island is the central focus of this coastal study, situated within the waters of Lake Michigan off the coast of Door County. The island's interior geography is defined by the significant expanse of Mackaysee Lake, which is accompanied by the smaller Mud Lake to the west. Human presence on the island is marked by the Chambers Island Airport and the Diocese Retreat on the eastern shore. To the southeast, the Strawberry Islands chain—including Jack Island, Little Strawberry Island, and Adventure Island—stretches toward the mainland near Fish Creek. Navigational features such as Hanover Shoal and the Strawberry Channel illustrate the maritime environment of the Green Bay area during this early 21st-century period.
