Charleston and the rural lands of northern Coles County are captured here just before the end of the second decade of the 21st century. The landscape is defined by its agricultural grid and a series of stream branches, including Flat Br, Greasy Cr, and Cassell Cr, which drain the surrounding farmland. The northern edge of the city of Charleston reaches into this area near W Elm St and N 5th St, while the small settlement of Bushton sits to the northeast.
